Specify the SMR 8 25/1 shaft mount speed reducer when the head shaft is in the 4-7/16 inch class and the belt has to run slower than a 15:1 drive allows. The extra reduction raises torque at the shaft for inclines, heavy startup, and low belt-speed duties.
It is a TXT 825-style shaft mount. Clamp it with a tapered bushing, set the included torque arm, and align the belt drive. Internal construction is the SMR standard: AGMA-ground case-hardened gears, extended tooth contact, FCD45 cast iron housing, double-lip seals, and tapered roller bearings.
Maximum bore is 4-7/16 inches. The box size 8 bushing kit is sold separately.
